Camille Claudel

A few hundred yards from the schools and research centres of the Saclay plateau, the Camille-Claudel quarter, with its young and contemporary image, provides the city of Palaiseau with a rejuvenating experience. Its strategy? Charming students and researchers from the neighbouring campus by offering them intelligent and convivial accommodations. The new Camille-Claudel quarter in Palaiseau located midway between major complexes to the south and detached houses to the north. Fresh’s accommodations take pride of place there to create a link between these two urban dimensions and offer an intermediary type of habitat. Fresh together with Nexity Apollonia designed a project whose mission it is to cater to all profiles, from students to families. The anthracite brick building is made up of 126 student flats, and the one in white rendering is made up of 26 council flats with a crèche on the ground floor. At the top of the student residence, the communal lounge is detached from the façade and levitates over a large terrace, which encourages young people to gather there. On the scale of the building, it puts collective life and exchanges on a symbolic pedestal. In 2022, the Camille Claudel district obtained stage 4 of the Eco Quartier label, joining the select circle of 9 national winners awarded this final stage by the Ministry of Ecological Transition.
